The & Co is the whole point.
In India, no one asks if you want coffee.
It’s already being made.
Filter coffee is coffee and chicory, brewed slow, poured from a height into a steel tumbler. It’s how you tell someone you were thinking of them before they walked in. It takes time. That’s the point. You don’t rush something you’re making for someone else.
Lahari grew up with this in Hyderabad. Moved to the US at eight. Spent years here missing it — the hospitality where someone starts before you arrive.
Kali & Co exists because that feeling shouldn’t require a twelve-hour flight.
The name comes from Kali, the dog.
The & Co is the rest of it.
Company. The people who come over. The friend who stays too long and gets a second cup anyway. The Saturday when nobody has anywhere to be. A reason to sit down.
Filter coffee in India was never about coffee alone. It was about sitting down long enough to talk. Kali & Co makes that easier to do here.
Lahari Vanga
Born in Hyderabad. Moved to the US at eight. Grew up here. Has one very opinionated dog.
Kali is the dog. She has strong opinions about most things and makes them known. She’s why this brand has a face.
Kali & Co is Lahari’s answer to a feeling she missed: the unhurried act of making coffee for someone. The implicit I’m glad you’re here.
She’s building a brand around that. Starting with coffee.
What We Believe
- 01 Coffee is how you tell someone they matter. Caffeine is a side effect.
- 02 A tradition only survives if someone decides to carry it.
- 03 Convenience should not taste like it.
- 04 Slowing down is a form of hospitality.
- 05 Nothing good comes from pretending everyone grew up the same.
